Food Pantry Construction Project

Hearts Treasure Foundation has taken on the administration of the Community Food Pantry located on Camp Road in Hamburg, in a building owned by Old Time Baptist Church. As a partner agency of FeedMore WNY, the pantry currently serves approximately 200 families from Hamburg and Blasdell, with the number of families seeking assistance increasing by about 10% each month.

To meet this growing need, Hearts Treasure Foundation is transforming an available 1,200-square-foot space into a permanent, welcoming pantry designed for safe food storage, efficient volunteer service, and a dignified client-choice shopping experience.

With a total projected cost of approximately $127,379, the project will be completed through six fundraising phases: plumbing; electrical and HVAC; flooring; interior construction; shelving and food-storage equipment; and final furnishings and finishing work. Donations will help fund the renovations, commercial refrigerators and freezers, shelving, work areas, and other essentials needed to create a more effective and sustainable pantry.

By investing in this permanent space, Hearts Treasure Foundation is strengthening an established community resource and expanding its ability to provide reliable food assistance and compassionate support to our neighbors throughout Hamburg and Blasdell.

We are excited about this project that’s close to home, in our own neighborhood. Would you consider supporting this great need? We have already secured the permit from the town of Hamburg building department, making this project construction ready! We plan to start the plumbing and preparation work within the next month.

Volunteer Activities

This summer, our board members have been busy!

Our all-volunteer board has had several wonderful opportunities to bring help and hope this summer. Honoring our foundation’s mission of connecting willing hearts with a place to serve, we were able to take a group of volunteers to New York City for a week long construction project. Each volunteer paid their own way, taking a week off of work to serve on this construction team that helped to build and restore the central platform/stage of an historic church that serves a Brooklyn community.

Board members also served in youth camps, community picnics in the city of Buffalo, and in the food pantry.

Ongoing Projects Needing Support

We are still collecting money towards the PNG Medical Clinic Project. The Justin Dye family is back at their station in Pangia, PNG, and we would like to finish raising the funds to purchase the X-ray machine and get it shipped to over to the Dye family. Once the machine is purchased, we will work with Justin to set a date to complete the construction of the clinic.

We also have two members of our Advisory Team headed to Nepal in October, to help with a medical clinic. They can still use Over the Counter medications to be able to take with them on this trip.

Please let us know if you would like more information on either of these projects, or would like to donate towards them.
