Pangia District of Papua New Guinea’s Southern Highlands Medical Clinic in Papua New Guinea
In the remote Pangia District of Papua New Guinea’s Southern Highlands, access to medical care is not simply limited — it is often nonexistent. Surrounded by rugged terrain and tropical climate, families must travel long distances for even the most basic treatment.
Today, a small but vital medical station with a dedicated group of laborers is serving this remote community — providing emergency care, first aid, preventative services, basic diagnostics, and transportation to the provincial hospital when necessary, all at no cost to patients.
The structure is standing. The commitment is unwavering. But the clinic is not yet complete.
Our goal is to raise the funds needed to finish and equip the facility — creating a safe, functional space for diagnosis, medical observation, and essential care. While the clinic already offers lab services, medications, ultrasound, and wound treatment, one critical tool is still missing: a portable digital X-ray system. This compact technology would allow providers to diagnose injuries on site and securely share images with medical specialists, dramatically improving patient outcomes.
It is common to see lines of people waiting outside this clinic, hoping for care. With your support, we can expand capacity and elevate the level of care available to this community.
Would you consider partnering with us? Every donation to the Hearts Treasure Foundation is 100% tax deductible, and every dollar designated for the Papua New Guinea project goes directly toward meeting this urgent need.
Together, we can bring hope and healing where it is needed most.
North Carolina Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
Following the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Helene in October, 2024, we gathered a team of volunteers and set about to raise funds and donations of supplies, delivering it directly to families in need. The volunteer team also brought their own equipment and helped families who had been affected by the hurricane. They spent a week clearing mud and debris, cutting trees, and connecting water sources to those who had none.
Most of the team’s work was centered in the Burnsville, NC area (Mount Mitchell) and the Celo community. The team was able to travel through the valley that was ravished by mountain rain runoff. Many homes have been destroyed or condemned and many people have lost everything. So many stories of heartache and loss… yet such determined spirits!
Much of this area is still without water and electricity. Our team was able to help clear debris, sand and silt, clear trees, and distribute supplies. A few of our guys had the privilege to join up with the Yancey FD crew and work alongside them.
The team provided supplies and support to multiple distribution sites, including at least eight different churches that were a hub of support for their community.
This really only scratches the surface of what was done…. And what is still needed there! It was difficult to leave when there is so much need. Many connections and friendships were forged.
Another aspect of what we accomplished in NC was raising funding to purchase "tiny homes' for displaced families who were temporarily staying in tents in December when it was cold and snowing in their area. We were able to have the "tiny homes" fabricated and transported to NC where they were assembled. We also equipped each "home" and family with a tote full of supplies and gift cards for purchases they may have needed.
Here’s a few pictures from the trip, trying to give an idea of the magnitude of supplies that our team was able to distribute thanks to all of you who generously donated.
Ukraine Relief Project
Members of our board have been traveling to Ukraine for many years, bringing relief and aid where possible. When the war escalated in Ukraine in 2022, we were able to use those already established connections to expand the aid and support and utilize that network to distribute supplies and much-needed food to hungry families deeply affected by the war.
